Your Local are traditional window cleaners with a modern twist. A family-run business carrying on a window cleaning legacy since 1919, with the trade passed down through generations.
Founder Thornton Tasker grew up watching his grandfather head out to work each day, proudly serving the local community as a window cleaner. Today, the team operate with modern equipment and the highest health and safety standards, while maintaining the same trusted, local, family feel that has defined the business for generations.
Our Story
1919
Our Founder, Thomton Taskers' great-grandfather, started a window cleaning business in Otley, unknowingly, starting a family tradition.
1989
Thomton and his brother, launch their own window cleaning business with a £200 Rover; which then began to grow.
2006
The brothers' company becomes Tasker UK Ltd, employing over 100 people. After selling it, Thomton started again from scratch, this time in commercial window cleaning.
2019
His new venture, Nationwide Window Cleaning, had 340 customers and £20 million in annual revenue.
2020
The global pause of the pandemic sparked a renewed appreciation for local communities and neighbourly pride, bringing around the idea of a local feel, nationwide, residential window cleaning company.
2021
Your Local was founded. A modern platform connecting people with local window cleaners and dreams to be embedded into every community across the UK.
